For all films and TV series filming in any government or private locations, script approval must be received prior to submitting an application for a filming permit.
Arabic productions must submit a full script in Arabic. All other productions must submit full scripts in English. The entire script should be submitted, even if only a sequence is shot in Dubai.
Local production houses and licensed freelancers can submit the script clearance by clicking here
For individuals, international companies of any activities, register here to submit your script, however, to submit a filming request, a local production house should be hired
You may cancel a request for script approval after submission but it is not possible to adjust an already submitted request unless specifically asked by the Commission to do so.
Script approval takes up to 25 business days to be issued. The UAE working week is Sunday through Thursday. Weekends and public holidays are not business days. The Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) will contact you as soon as an approval has been granted. DFTC strictly ensures the confidentiality of each script. For more information regarding script approvals, see the Terms and Conditions section on our website.
