First let me speak about Icon Art Production, its run by Zak very competent man Visionary. He is a film buff and that's a great asset because you know unless you don't understand films you don't have a heart and if you don't have a heart you become HEARTLESS. You need somebody who understands you completely and who supports you heartedly and ZAK is a person who just went out of his way who supports me. He runs a production house and he has a great infrastructure from the editing to the film equipments. All of that what I got was in super condition which is so important because when you filming you got lots of technical problem and I had none. There was a time when I was like put my hands up and I said I can't do this because I am running short of money and he said forget about money just go ahead and do it I am behind you. I would recommend Icon Art Production and ZAK to everyone and at the end of the day I would say thank God you gave me Icon Art Production and ZAK.

My first experience as a producer in the Emirates was a few years ago.

Dubai and the Emirates are fascinating, exciting, and challenging work environments. Many little things are done differently here than at home.

That's why my work needed to find a local partner who would care for everything I didn't know about. We chose the Icon Art Production company. Fortunately.

The company's dedication to our production was unparalleled. We received help in matters that were not even covered by our contract. Icon Art knew Dubai, Emirates, and key people well, allowing me to focus on producing a good TV show. Icon Art took responsibility for the production as if it were its own.

Being one of the pioneers to bring Bollywood productions to Dubai, starting with television in 1997 and then on to feature films and we have always looked to partner with collaborators who can comprehend our commitment to the business of film. We share that with the team at Icon Art Productions and Zak personally. Having worked with him and his team on challenging projects such as “Welcome Back” & “Lingaa” it’s an advantage having a person who understands the culture and the challenges of Bollywood just as we do. We might agree to disagree on a lot of things but our first and only endeavor is more creativity and more films. Icon art production I think have been extremely helpful in helping me to film my first home production called HEARTLESS. One thing that’s sure is that in life it is very hard to find people who are willing to believe in your little plans and are willing to take the time and effort to help and watch that little plan materialize. Especially when they can just focus on themselves and not bother about others. It was truly a great experience and pleasure to work with Zak and I call him Mr. Zee and his great team. We have been involved in a few projects together and while some have materialized, some we didn’t complete but yet (Icon art) Mr. Zee and his team have been there and are still more than willing to make things happen. That’s a true friend and a supporter that works with his art, heart, experience and SOUL.

As a new filmmaker, I happened to meet Zak from Icon Art Productions who gave me tremendous support for my first film. It was his passion towards building a film culture in the UAE and supporting start up filmmakers with crew and equipment that helped my project come to life.

I know that he paved the way for me to be confident about my work, and to keep doing what I love to do most, which is making movies. We are working together till date and I still have his support. I like to think that I have won an amazing filmmaker and film lover to my network and hope for a long-term collaboration with him and Icon Art.

To all new filmmakers, I think that the only way to make it is to keep making films. However, to do so, I believe that knocking on the right doors is the only way to make it all happen. Icon Art Productions helps and supports new filmmakers to start up, and for me it was one of the right doors I knocked on and now I have two films made with this kind of valuable and much needed support. Currently I am working on my first feature for which I know I will still get the same support I have always had from knocking on the right doors and Icon Art is one of them.

"Since January 2010, the series of events organized under the label TEDxDUCTAC was made possible partly because of the generous contribution of Zak and his team. Unlike other contributions, which were limited to the place and time of the event, the support extended by Icon Productions continued into the post-production stages and the delivery of final products that were uploaded on the ted.com site. The most important aspect of our collaboration is something I still continue to benefit from - when Zak commits to something, you can always count on him to be there."

Icon Art Production supported me in many projects. Some films turned out to be more or less successful, but without mistakes there is no chance to grow. I am grateful for the devoted work and belief in me as a storyteller, director and producer. I am also happy that we learnt how to make a project from scratch and to be a Team in any situation.

I think when Icon Art Production adopted my film “my hand” they acted professionally in a smart way and as part of their strategy for social corporate responsibility. They provided me with all the resources free just to make it happen and this is what is the difference between a production house and people who see the potential in people and believe in them. There are very few filmmakers who will support new talent, share their dreams and give them what they need during hard times so this initiative is something amazing, respected and it is done completely by Icon Art Production as it has happened in the past, at least with my project.

Lea is a little girl fighting cancer and her condition is very serious, She would die if we don’t find a stem cell match and to get a stem cell match was not difficult to find, but getting the funds was the most difficult process. How do you tell this to a mother whose daughter has a cure but does not have the money for the cure?

We prayed and asked for a solution and that’s when out of the blue I got a call from Zak from Icon Art Production saying he wants to make a documentary film about Lea that allows people to understand the exact situation and encourage people to forward the video link to help save her life.

The 5-minute documentary film was made and people came forward to contribute and together we saved Leas life. Lea is alive today as a happy, mischievous little girl. All because of the community support, along with Icon Art Production’s contribution that helped create the awareness of the situation. Together we can fight and overcome any challenge in life.
